More After Hours

You might have seen this over at Bike Jerks a few days ago; and now-and-again we share a little of our after hours activities. But we couldn't help but repost it here. Enjoy.

Inside Velocity USA

As you may or may not know, the Velocity guys are my homies and some of the best folks in the bike industry.

They do it all so right, they sponsor tons of events and riders, make great product (with the A23 being my current favorite), and the customer service is always amazing. Whenever my hard earned dollars are spent on rims, I look to Velocity first because I know I'm not likely to have an issue, and if I do, they'll fix the hell out of it without any hassle.

Matt sent over these photos of Ryan (dude who manages the wheel building) shredding on the ramps that they keep setup in their warehouse for after hours sessions.

Kickbacks

At Velocity, we're proud of each and every rider and team that we sponsor. We've gotten more and more involved with cyclocross racing in the past few years, and one of the rising stars we've had the honor of working with is Jenny Powell of the Ira Ryan 'cross team. She's been running Major Tom Pros most of the season and kicking a lot of, well, doing really dang well out in the Pacific Northwest.

Although never requested and certainly not expected, it sure is nice to receive care packages from our sponsored riders. Jenny sent us a mix of Portland goodies in the form of caffeine, hops and receptacles for both.
Thanks again Jenny! Good luck training for next season!

Tragic loss for the FGG Community

Too often the story ends far too early - at unexplainable moments. In one way or another we have all been affected by this reality as one of our own is taken from us.

This past week, the Cleveland, OH and the Fixed Gear Gallery online community lost one of their own - suffering the loss of one of their frequent contributors, Nick Neric (aka ClevelandFix), in a tragic hunting accident.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Neric family and Nick's wife, Stacey, as they navigate this difficult time. A online support fund has been started to help aid the family, more information can be found on the FGG site.
