2012 Yankee Springs Time Trial

The 2012 Yankee TT went down last weekend with record turnout.  We upped the swag game this year and donated a set of white Blunt SL wheels and a set of antifreeze green Blunt rims.  Both were well received and two of our own from The Wheel Department logged impressive results.  Ryan took home 11th in the Expert/Elite SS class while Jacobi placed 23rd in the overal Elite class.  Here's what organizer Dennis Murphy had to say about the event...

The 23rd annual Yankee Springs Time Trial was a HUGE success thanks to all the racers and volunteers. 700 racers sold out our pre-registration and another forty racers showed up day-of to participate in the kick-off event of the mountain bike season. We are already considering improvement ideas for 2013 including how to allow for up to 1000 racers!

The weather was cool but mostly clear the whole day. The course was fast and packed due to a short rainstorm during the previous day. Mike Anderson of North Country Cycle Sport crushed the course with what we think is a record time of 1:25:46 for the two lap elite event

Thanks again to title sponsor Velocity for supplying swag - especially the rims and wheelsets won by two excited racers

Steve Makuch won the green Blunt rims and is looking to build them up himself!

Eric Hune was super-excited to win the white Blunt wheelset- notice he's already got a set on his bike.. which he said is now dinged up with a couple years of steady use- the new wheelset is likely already on the bike and been on a trail!
